[Video showing soybeans being moved from harvester to a truck] Overall, seed companies indicate that there will be plenty of good quality soybean seed available this year in Arkansas, and in the rest of nation. [Video showing a soybean field] However, certain varieties of seed may be low and growers should book preferred varieties as soon as possible.

As of February 4th, 2010, Arkansas State Plant Board germination and accelerated aging tests on soybean seed show that seed quality is good now but the concern is if the quality will remain high in storage.

Seed labs have noted more mold on seeds because of last year’s wet fall. [Picture showing a flooded soybean field with moldy soybean pods] This year, many seed companies are recommending fungicide treatments as a precaution.
